Today I spent the morning with two supplier partners. One has a global offering of amazing properties and experiences, and the other is focused entirely on the arctic. While I am fascinated by so many areas of the world, Antarctica is actually at the very top of my personal bucket list. I was frantically taking notes about all of the logistics of how to make an expedition happen. But, she told a story about her world travels (she worked 19 years on a cruise ship) and marrying her husband who was a historian. She mentioned that when she started to travel with him, “travel started to become about the “why” instead of just about the consumption of the destination.” She needed to know everything about each destination, the people, and why it is the way it is now.

This stopped me in my tracks to really think about why I love to travel so much. Is it the people? The history? The pampering? The culture? Is it the consumption of destination that I love (sights, sounds, smells, tastes)? Or, is it something more? What is it that makes me a slightly different person every time I get a new passport stamp?

So, today I am just going to ask you a question, why do you travel?

I would love to hear! Either message me on Facebook, text me, or email me back! It’s a really important question to know the answer to when we are putting together an itinerary together!

Why I travel…

To be humbled…

To learn how to protect the planet…

To understand time…

To learn biodiversity…

To learn human diversity…
